“CBD” stands for “cannabidiol” and was discovered in 1940.   Although most are familiar with THC, the active ingredient in cannabis (marijuana), not everyone is familiar with CBD, the second most active ingredient.  CBD is an essential component of medical marijuana and is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a “cousin” of the marijuana plant.
